Throughout the 1980s, the hall famously hosted weeknight dances, weekend fairs, and Sunday School.<\/p>\n<p>On 4 July 2009, the building was refurbished and rededicated as a marae and named T\u0101tai Hono, which means \u2018bound together\u2019.
