Kaimihana | Missioner (Priest in Charge)<\/span><\/h4>\n

(Te Aupouri, Te Rarawa, Muri Whenua), the first Maori woman Missioner, is the grand-niece of the first Missioner, the Venerable Sir K\u012bngi \u012ahaka<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Married to Adam for 30-years, they are across numerous aspects of local, national and international Church life. Rev’d Neihana was raised in Porirua in a wh\u0101nau of four. Neihana has a Bachelor of Business in Marketing and Management, and spent five years as a secondary school teacher in both kura M\u0101ori and mainstream schools. Now, he is focused on completing his doctoral studies in Theology, while juggling clergy commitments for Te P\u012bhopatanga o Te Tai Tokerau, under the M\u0101ori Anglican Church in T\u0101maki Makaurau. <\/span>Neihana is passionate about Christian formation, m\u0101tauranga M\u0101ori, and encouraging others to be all they were meant to be in Christ. He is the board chair of Te W\u0101nanga Ihorangi and is a teaching fellow at Venn Foundation. He is happily married to Elena Reihana. They are parents to their bubbly daughter Whakaaria, and their smiley son, M\u0101koha.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deanna brings to the table a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Administrative and Management roles within an office. Managing their own real estate team in Brisbane, Australia as a successful Sales Agent alongside her husband Rob Karaka. Since moving back to New Zealand in 2020, after living in Brisbane for 26.5 years, with her wh\u0101nau and two beautiful daughters, Ayanna 17yrs old and Tishani 15yrs, Deanna joined our team in 2023 and has taken on the role as Office Administrator with her happy, bubbly and friendly demeanour<\/span>. She looks after all our enquiries, bookings, maintenance issues, accounts and assists our Priest-in-Charge when the need arises. Passionate about technology and media, Rev’d Scott leads up our communications across the Te M\u012bhana M\u0101ori platforms. From the e-news to socials, you’ll be sure to find his photos, event invitations, and updates on all that’s happening in the life and mission of Te M\u012bhana. Outside of his comms role, Scott is a deacon for the church – supporting our community outreach with a particular heart for social justice, rangatahi, and hospitality. With a background in M\u0101ori community health, Scott is also passionate about seeing how we as a community can holistically support the hauora (well-being) of all we encounter at Te M\u012bhana M\u0101ori.<\/p>\n

Rev’d Sean is a dedicated servant of God, husband to Whitney, and loving father to Hawaiki. He was born in Whang\u0101rei, raised in Takahiwai and then moved to Auckland to attend Te K\u0101reti o H\u0101to Petera (2003\u20132006). He carries a deep love for his people and a calling to ministry, study, and service. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Theology through Trinity Methodist College, he also studies alongside his wife at St John\u2019s College. Rev’d Sean has been a part of our Te M\u012bhana wh\u0101nau since 2023, and was ordained as a deacon in July 2024. His passion for people extends beyond the church, having a background in youth work and service in the Royal NZ Army (2008\u20132010). He also helps facilitate Te Reo M\u0101ori classes at T\u0101tai Hono, embracing and promoting the language as a cornerstone of identity and faith.<\/div>\n

Whaea Ele is passionate about bringing to life what the adults are learning in the main service and teaching it in a way that is accessible for our t\u0101mariki. Sam was born in the Sussex region of the UK and his wh\u0101nau moved to Wellington when he was 11. His teenage years were spent in Porirua where he attended a charismatic reformed church. In 2021 he, his wife (Stacey) and their tamariki moved to T\u0101maki to train at St John’s Theological College. Sam\u2019s background is in the electrical industry, church work (such as worship, preaching and leadership) and is now a kaiako reo M\u0101ori at Te W\u0101nanga Ihorangi. Sam is passionate about seeing the name of Jesus being worshipped in a variety of contexts and has a strong belief in the importance of the church as standing as salt and light in T\u0101maki Makaurau.<\/p>\n

Stacey was born and raised in Porirua, Wellington. She grew up in the Catholic church before moving to a reformed charismatic setting. Stacey is married to Sam and together they have three children, Isaiah, Ellie-Mae and Charles. In 2010 Stacey graduated with a Bachelors in Nursing and after many successful years in public health she and her family moved to T\u0101maki to undergo training at St John\u2019s Theological College where she is currently completing her Graduate Diploma in Theology. Stacey is passionate about caring for those on the margins and wanting to see the church be a place where people from all backgrounds and walks of life can find a home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Using this whakapapa lens, Paul is on a journey to help lead Te M\u012bhana in finding a new sound for of our collective worship – in this era and among this generation. Embracing our whakapapa, but also seeking the spirit’s guidance as to how we may need to be more dynamic\/contemporary in some ways.
