Each Sunday, as we gather together in worship, we 'pass the peace' to one another. This offering is a weekly reminder of the peace that Christ gives us, our need to be at peace with one another, and a faithful step towards creating unity in a world that yearns for lasting peace. ⁠
⁠
As we offer peace to those around us, we are also reminded that many people carry unseen burdens. For some, peace may feel distant or difficult to find in the circumstances they are facing. ⁠
⁠
If that is you, we pray that Christ meets you in the midst of your struggles, that His peace is known within your heart (in spite of what you're facing, which He already knows and carries with you), and we pray for the miracle that a way is made, even when there seems to be no obvious way.⁠
⁠
And for the wider church, our prayer is this - may we be people who not only receive your peace, but carry it into the world around us.⁠

With the Koroneihana beginning this Sunday, we join in acknowledging this significant occasion. ⁠

We send our aroha and warmest regards to Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te po Pootatau Te Wherowhero VIII, upholding her in our prayers as she continues in this sacred role. May she be strengthened with wisdom, grace, and peace.⁠

With Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te po, inviting whānau, waka and manuhiri from Aotearoa and across the world to Koroneihana, we encourage our whānau to head down and participate.⁠

We also hold in prayer the iwi of Tainui, giving thanks for the immense mahi, manaaki, and preparation that goes into hosting this time each year - including our very own Rev'd Tumanako Tomo and his whānau. May you be upheld and blessed as you gather, remember, and celebrate.⁠

Koroneihana remains a powerful expression of unity, identity, and continuity - honouring those who have gone before, and inspiring the generations to come.⁠

Nau mai, haere mai, hoki mai ki tō tātou karakia! Come through to our 10.30am service this Sunday! Join us in-person; or on the YouTube/FB live stream (link in bio). Kura Rātapu (Sunday School) will be on for the kids! Free parking around the whare, and a kapu tī to follow after the service.⁠

Note: As per our pānui yesterday, the 8.30am service is now on hold for a season (looking at restarting it in Oct or Nov). We will let you know when it restarts, but for now, the 10.30am service will be our only Sunday karakia.⁠

Our Friday Night Market is on tonight (Fri 21 Aug)

Our Friday Night Market is on tonight (Fri 21 Aug) and every fortnight following; 5-9pm; right here in the carpark of Te Mīhana Māori (2 Burleigh St, Grafton). There’ll be plenty of delicious kai including Japanese crêpes by @chaya.japanese.crepe , homemade Korean kimchi by @gingerspantry , cream puffs by @toro_creampuff , and authentic Indian Chai by @chaiclubakl . The heaters will be on within Tātai Hono Marae, creating a warm and cosy indoor space to sit, eat, and catch up with friends and whānau - so invite them along! Following this one, the next market will be on Fri 4 Sept.⁠

Please be advised that our 8.30am service has been placed on hold, and will be merged with our 10:30am service. We will let you know when that service is due to restart (likely in Oct or Nov), but for now, the 10.30am service will be our sole karakia each Sunday.⁠
